Woman Ministries

I’ve often been accused of being a feminist, to which I’ve always responded:  “I’m not a feminist, I’m an equalitarian” I have no idea if that word even exists in English, but that’s how I feel.  I’m not saying that being a feminist is wrong, I’m just saying that I’m not!

Being feminine is what I believe we, God’s women should be.  God has gifted us with special gifts that are unique to our gender so why try to be something we’re not?  I have no need to go out there and lift 100 kgs to prove I can compete with a man, or to drive a huge truck to prove I can do what a man can do.

Femininity is where our true power lies.  God gave us the gift to nurture one another (I’m not saying no man can nurture!) our children, our spouses and our friends.  He also gave us intuition, which so often comes in handy and makes us aware of things before others see what’s happening or going to happen.

When God created Eve, he gave her feminine attributes that complemented Adam.  Together they made a powerful “One”.  Equal, but different.   The Apostle Paul wrote in Galatians 3:28:  “Faith in Christ Jesus is what makes each of you equal with each other, whether you are a Jew or a Greek, a slave or a free person, a man or a woman.” (Contemporary English Version)

In the book “The Power of Femininity” by Michelle McKinney Hammond, she quotes Matthew Henry (Bible Commentary) as saying “If man is the head, she (woman) is the crown, a crown to her husband, the crown of the visible creation.” We were created in God’s image as women, so let’s rejoice in that fact and become all that God created us to be.
